MindsEye is a narrative-driven, single-player action-adventure thriller developed by Build A Rocket Boy (founded by former Rockstar North veteran Leslie Benzies) and published by IO Interactive Partners A/S. Set in the near-future, fictional desert metropolis of Redrock, MindsEye plunges players into an intense, technology-driven city where robots handle manual tasks and an all-seeing algorithm aims to make it the "Safest City in the World." This city serves as a living experiment in the existential potential of man and machine, a theme deeply explored through the protagonist, Jacob Diaz.
Players step into the shoes of Jacob Diaz, a former special-ops soldier haunted by fragmented memories stemming from his mysterious MindsEye neural implant. What begins as a personal quest to uncover the truth behind his implant and the circumstances of a military operation gone wrong quickly escalates into a mission critical for humanity's survival. Jacob finds himself in the crossfire between the eccentric head of Silva Industries, Marco Silva, who seeks to alter human evolution, and Redrock's power-hungry mayor, Shiva Vega, who desires greater control over technology and citizens. As sentient robots begin to rise, propelled by human greed and unchecked military power, Jacob must fight to understand his past and ultimately shape the future.
